All of its prey shall be pursued.

📖 Overview

Pursuer is the first Killer you unlock in Die of Death, and is the fastest Killer in-game. They serve as the generic rush-down killer, having relatively simple yet powerful abilities.

Despite this, Pursuer still requires high skill to use effectively, mainly through stamina management and persistence.

🎨 Appearance

Pursuer appears as a blackish Robloxian with a somewhat grainy textured body and a lack of clothing. His head is white, with the Ahenobarbus Henocied face in a teal shade. The texture of the face is cut off at the edges of the eyes.

Pursuer's design originates and takes inspiration from low quality roblox horror models from the late 2000s to early 2010s, judging by his stiff movement and poorly cropped face decal.

A basic melee attack that can be used for quick damage. Perfect for finishing off weakened civilians or dealing damage during chases.

Cleave

As soon as it got it's hands on that sword, it seemed like it was second nature...

Pursuer quickly pulls out the sword from his back and lunges it forwards, moving forwards at a quick rate. Upon hitting a Civilian, they take 20 damage, and then take an additional 10 Bleed damage over time. While a Civilian is Bleeding, they are Indicated to Pursuer. Regardless if he lands the hit or not, Pursuer will be heavily slowed for 1 second after the attack to put the sword on his back.

  • Windup duration extends significantly while sprinting
  • Substantial end-lag vulnerability following activation - exercise caution!

Howl

That piercing wail... nothing dare make any sound to contest it's call.

Pursuer reels back and releases a guttural howl into the air. Anyone in a 100 stud range around Pursuer when he uses Howl will be greatly slowed for 6 seconds. Can stack.

  • Exceptional for initiating pursuit sequences
  • Slow effects accumulate through stacking for maximum impact
  • Deploy to fragment cohesive survivor group formations

Stalk/Unshroud

I still remember it vividly... the feeling of it breathing down my neck... yet I couldn't see it.

Pursuer rends back, readjusting its skeletal structure into an odd pattern, granting Pursuer invisibility, increased move speed, and the ability to see all Civilians Globally, but is unable to use other abilities or attack for a mild duration. When the duration is up, Pursuer has a short animation of fading back into visibility, and then continuing as normal. Pursuer is able to Recast this ability to end it early, at the cost of it having more endlag.

Cooldown
15 seconds
Damage
20 (Base)
💡 Tips
The ultimate stealth ability. Use for ambushes, scouting, or repositioning. Global vision is extremely powerful for map awareness.
🎯 Best Practices
  • Ideal for stealth approach tactics around corner positions
  • Global vision capability assists with comprehensive civilian tracking
  • Early cancellation option available when tactical situations require adjustment
  • Enhanced movement velocity during invisibility phases

🎮 How to Use

  • Pursuer is the fastest killer in the game, and is the only killer faster than the Civilians, which makes it have the least trouble catching up to targets.
  • Pursuer thrives wasting targets' stamina given its speed, so attempt to focus on targets who cannot manage stamina correctly and efficiently.
  • When using Cleave, make sure to use it on a target you're CONFIDENT in hitting. The massive end-lag after use is a great way for Civilians to either punch or shoot you.
  • Cleave works well when sneaking up at survivors thanks to the speed boost during wind up. This can be done by using Stalk to appear out of corners.
  • Use Howl when you are low on or out of stamina. This gives you time to regenerate stamina while also slowing down fleeing Civilians, allowing you to keep distance short.

🛡️ How to Counter

  • Use abilities that can spot invisible killers (like Cloak or other detection abilities)
  • Stay in well-lit areas and avoid dark corners where Pursuer can ambush
  • Use punch or ranged attacks when Pursuer uses Cleave to punish the end-lag
  • Spread out and don't group up - Pursuer excels against clustered survivors
  • Use mobility abilities like Dash or Adrenaline to create distance

⭐ Best Strategies

  • Focus on isolated or low-stamina civilians first
  • Use Stalk to set up ambushes around corners and doorways
  • Combine Howl with Cleave for devastating combo attacks
  • Use global vision from Stalk to track civilian movements across the map
  • Apply bleed with Cleave then use Howl to slow them while they bleed
